Vodafone Inruilen - "ReCell"

Has anyone else had trouble with Vodafone ReCell? I sent them two iPhone 4s in perfect condition. I didn't trust the thin envelopes I was given, so I wrapped both in bubble-wrap, put them in a box (with more bubble-wrap) and paid nearly 20 Euros to send them to Bergschenhoek by recorded delivery. After 18 days, I still hadn't received any money, so I called them. They asked me what proof I had that they had received the phones, so I explained about the recorded delivery and that the post office had confirmed they had been delivered. They told me to call back at the end of the week. When I did so (still no money received), they told me that one of the phones was so badly damaged that they were only giving me 25% of the price! Apparently the door to the SIM card slot was damaged. When I questioned this, they told me they'd investigate further. They called me back and said they had managed to open it now, but the phone was badly damaged inside. They sent me photos. Honestly - NOBODY would send back a phone in that condition and expect 160 Euros for it. The door was so bent that I could never have had a bumper on the phone! Either they broke it, or it was not my phone. When I told them I had never even tried to open the door myself (I left the SIM card in it because Vodafone had given me a pay-as-you-go replacement), they had the cheek to accuse me of knowing that the phone was defective! I'm not 14. I'm 40, and I don't need the money. But I hate being cheated, tricked and accused of lying. Has anyone else had a bad experience with this ReCell department?

Hi boyjs1, welcome to the forums. I must say that personally I have never heard these kinds of complaints, but it's very strange. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has the same experience. Our partners are chosen very carefully and something like this should not happen. That's also why they make the pictures, to ensure that no damage is done when the phone is received or handled.

Could they tell you if the sim was still in it when they received the Phone? Otherwise, talking to the messenger might be an option. In the fee a form of ensurance is included, that's why sending this way is rather expensive (but also highly advisable)
