Roaming problems with Prepaid card

Hi!

Hope it is ok, posting here in English, but I do not find any english help on your page. Also vodafone.nl/english (as printet in the user manual) is not working for me.

But to my question: I have a vodafone prepaid SIM, tried to use in abroud. It is working fine in Austria, but now on Jersey Island (UK) it is not working. Can you please advice what to do?

As this is a public forum, I do not want to post my phone number, but I cannot find any support email adress.

What phone are you using right now? Is Roaming turned on?
Besides that, is the network selecting of your phone on automatic or manual?

It is used in a system for sending/receiving SMS.
Roaming is of course turned on. As several other SIMs are already used in the same system (also from Vodafone CZ and Vodafone It or also T-Mobile NL), this should not be a problem of the device settings.

A prepaid card wil deactivate itself if it isn;t upgraded for more then sevral months... can that be the problem?

Yes, with Vodafone IT, it is working as expected.
And no, it is no problem, the card will be recharged time by time, whenever needed.

Hi Roland, do you have the option of manually changing the network the sim is connected to? As it's roaming, it can connect to several networks. It would be useful to know if connecting to different networks makes a difference.
Also, if the problem has a high priority you could call +31654500100 and pick option 9. My colleague's speak English well enough to help you 🙂

Thanks for your reply!
I called the hotline three times, in the third call, your colleague was telling me that Vodafone NL has no roaming contract with Jersey Telecom (UK).
Just some more info: the SIM should be used to receive and send out SMS via an SMS device. My partner company there operates in the Jersey Telecom network.

The thing is now, that I talked with my partner company in UK and they are telling me that they have some Vodafone NL SIMs running in their device, so there must be the possitility to run Vodafone NL SIMs in the Jersey Teelcom network. Can you please double check the case?
