Sim card is to big for the nano SIM card holder

Hi, after charging my new Sony Xperia z3 compact D5803/D5833 wanted to put sim card that I have recieved together with a phone. But it is too big for a nano sim card holder. Why is that?

If you signed for a new contract then visit the shop and let them know what's going on, they will replace your simcard with one which fits in your mobile phone.
